I will do more to address Indian concerns: Clinton
WASHINGTON, APRIL 14. The U.S. President, Mr. Bill Clinton, has
promised to use his days in office and as well the post-
Presidential years to do more to improve the lives of American
Indians.
He told Indian donors to the Democratic senatorial campaign
committee last night that starting next year - when ``he will
have more time to work on fewer things'' - he would undertake
projects relating to their economic development, health care and
education.
``I believe in the potential of all people. I believe that
intelligence is equally apportioned among all races, but
opportunity isn't,'' Mr. Clinton told guests at a $10,000
-a-person dinner.
Mr. Clinton again apologised for earlier government policies that
hurt Indians and caused the government to ``run from our own
responsibility'' to improve their health and welfare.
