Realignment
Sir, - The stark reality that no political party has any qualms
in associating with any party irrespective of its ideologies is
well focused in your Editorial ``Realignment in West Bengal''
(The Hindu, April 10).The statement by Mr. L. K. Advani that the
Congress was welcome to join the ``grand-alliance'' against the
Left Front in West Bengal is all the more astounding inasmuch as
he used to be equated with a very few sterling politicians such
as Sardar Patel and Morarji Desai who valued their principles.
When opportunity is in sight bete noires and erstwhile
antagonists turning to be strange bed-fellows, has become common
these days.
Overnight, wisdom dawned on Mr. Moopanar to discover `corruption'
in the DMK regime and to fight that he has joined the AIADMK.
What is painfully amusing is that every politician wants us to
believe that he is striving to wipe out corruption.
