Jamia students released
NEW DELHI, APRIL 19. All 161 persons, including students and
outsiders, detained after the April 9 incident in the Jamia Milia
Islamia campus, have been relased, the police said today.
Earlier, the issue of alleged police excesses rocked the Lok
Sabha, with the Government assuring an agitated Opposition that
orders were being issued for the immediate release of
``innocent'' students and steps initiated to hold a judicial
probe.
