Poor batting by Pakistan

BRIDGETOWN (BARBADOS), APRIL 19. Pakistan was struggling at 153 for eight in 45 overs, after electing to bat, in the opening game of the three- match triangular series final against the West Indies at the Kensington Oval here on Wednesday. Wasim Akram with 11 and Mushtaq Ahmed with 3 were at the crease. Inzamam-ul-Haq was the highest scorer with 66.

The other batsmen to be dismissed were Imran Nazir (12), Shahid Afridi (17), Younis Khan (23), Yousuf Youhana (8), Moin Khan (0), Abdur Razzaq (7) and Waqar Younis (0). Reon King took two wickets while Ambrose, McLean, Gayle and Adams took one wicket apiece. There were two run outs.

The teams:

West Indies: Jimmy Adams (captain), Sherwin Campbell, Philo Wallace, Wavell Hinds, Chris Gayle, Sylvester Joseph, Ridley Jacobs, Curtly Ambrose, Franklyn Rose, Nixon McLean and Reon King.

Pakistan: Moin Khan (captain), Inzamam- ul-Haq, Yousuf Youhana, Shahid Afridi, Imran Nazir, Arshad Khan, Abdur Razzaq, Waqar Younis, Mushtaq Ahmed, Wasim Akram and Younis Khan.
