Bid on J&K Minister's life
By Shujaat Bukhari
SRINAGAR, APRIL 30.The J&K Minister for Works, Mr. Ali Mohammad
Sagar, and the Lok Sabha MP, Mr Ali Mohammad Naik, had a
miraculous escape when militants made an unsuccessful bid on
their lives in a south Kashmir village.
Police sources said that Mr. Sagar, Mr. Naik and the MLA, Sheikh
Mohammad Rafi, were on way to Reshinagar in Shopian tehsil of
south Kashmir to inaugurate a bridge.
As their convoy reached Singloo village, the militants detonated
a landmine which exploded with a big bang but the convoy had
already crossed. In another explosion in Kangan area, one
labourer was killed and four injured. Meanwhile, Pakistani troops
resorted to heavy shelling on Indian positions along the LoC in
Keran sector killing a 10-year-old girl and injuring four others.
