13 militants surrender
GUWAHATI, APRIL 30. Thirteen militants, including 12 ULFA cadres
and a NDFB ultra, have surrendered before the Darrang district
administration, official sources said here today.
The militants, led by Ratul Barua alias Jilika Barua, surrendered
before the district Deputy Commissioner, Mr Sanjoy Lohia,and the
Superintendent of Police,Mr. P.Bhattacharya on Saturday.
The militants also laid down one M20 US pistol, one .38 revolver,
one .22 rifle, one .22 revolver and 30 rounds of Ak-47
ammunition, the sources said. Besides Barua, the other ULFA
militants who surrendered were Upendas, the organising secretary
of Saraighat Anchalik,Ranjit Deka, Danda deka, Rahul Amin, Pradip
Das and Kumud Saharia while the NDFB militant was Ajay Boro.
