JIPMER entrance test timings

PONDICHERRY, MAY 10. The entrance examination conducted by the Centrally-administered JIPMER in Pondicherry will be held simultaneously in Delhi, Calcutta, Pondicherry, Hyderabad, Thiruvanantha puram and Chennai on June 4, according to a communication received from the Dean of JIPMER. He said that the examination timing has been rescheduled in response to a request from the students appearing the for admission test to the MBBS course in the institute.

The management has now decided to hold the entrance examination from 2-30 p.m. to 5 p.m. instead of from 10 a.m. to 12-30 p.m. on June 4 as decided earlier. There would be clash of examinations that day and hence the students' request to revise the timing has been conceded. The communication said the last date for receipt of filled-in applications and for the sale of the applications with prospectus on cash payment has been extended up to May 20.

The entrance examination is scheduled for June 4 and begins at 2.30 p.m.. The exam is restricted to 46 seats in the manner detailed below: Open general (14 seats) Open Scheduled Caste (8), Open Scheduled Tribe (4), Pondicherry general (15) and Pondicherry SC quota (5).

The remaining 29 seats are to be filled by CBSE- sponsored candidates (11) and nominations by the Central Government (18). Dr. A.K. Das, Dean of JIPMER, was also present at the press meeting.
