AIFF clears 163 inter-State transfers

CALCUTTA, MAY 13. The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has released a list of 163 inter-State transfers for 2000-2001. The transfers take effect from May 1, according to the secretary of the AIFF, Mr. Kedar Nath Mour.

As per the list, 14 boys of the Tata Football Academy (TFA) in Jamshedpur have been picked up by the professional clubs, among whom Tollygunge Agragami bagged five, East Bengal five and Salgaocar SC three. As many as 12 players from FC Kochin, including Mahesh M. Gowali, Dhanesh K.V., A.S. Firoz, Jeevan Moras and Tejinder Kumar, have sought to play for other teams in the coming season.

Dipak Kumar Mandal, India's pre-Olympic captain, left JCT to join East Bengal. Similarly, a host of players from Bengal Mumbai Football Club deserted it for better options elsewhere. The notable among them is goalkeeper Kalyan Chaubey coming over to Mohun Bagan and Aloke Das to FCI, Calcutta.
