New vision for your life

IF you look up in sky this month, you will see an incredible array of planets assembled just to the right of Orion's Belt. In the morning sky you may see Mercury, Venus, Jupiter and Saturn. In the evening sky, you will see Mars. What you are witnessing is a highly unusual collection of celestial bodies lighting up one sector of the sky by the constellation of Taurus. As you may have read in last month's column, this extraordinary line-up is called the Taurus Grand Conjunction.

You may be experiencing the impact of the Taurus Grand Conjunction as an intensified focus on one area of your life, the sense that something is amiss, and as the intuition that if you don't change, you won't be able to take your next step. You may also be more concerned about your roots, financial security, long-term stability and making plans that will insure a "solid" future. You are thinking this way because you are under the influence of a surplus of Taurus energy, which moves all of us to be more practical, methodical, goal-oriented, security-conscious and down-to-earth.

You will be feeling the results of the stampede of Taurus the Bull in May and June because Jupiter and Saturn, the planets that cause earthly manifestation, travel together in Taurus until June 30. Furthermore, Jupiter and Saturn will make an exact conjunction, as they do only once every 20 years, on May 28. The bottom line is: Think hard about what you want to change, create or re-create in your life, and by May 28, start doing something about it! The once-every-20-years Jupiter-Saturn Conjunction marks a particularly significant historic milestone. In the past, the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn alone has been a harbinger of unusual phenomena and tests of tradition. Interestingly, a U.S. President has died in office, or has had an attempt made on his life, following every single Jupiter-Saturn conjunction from 1900 to 1980. The May 2000 Jupiter-Saturn Conjunction has an equally powerful ability to shake up the status quo in your personal life. You may look back 20, 40 or even 60 years in your life to previous Jupiter-Saturn Conjunctions and realise that you have reached either a pinnacle or a turning point on an earlier decision that you made during a previous Jupiter-Saturn Conjunction (these occur during the year of the even-numbered decades). You will probably notice that you committed to a game plan at one of these critical junctures in 1980, 1960 or 1940. Now, in May 2000, you are questioning the life direction you began pursuing some decades ago. You now have the opportunity to recommit to a life direction that is more appropriate for the person you are today.

Another planetary alignment this month also is furthering your urge to break free from any remaining limiting beliefs and structures to create a more innovative life. This powerful desire is caused by the presence of two planets, Uranus and Neptune in Aquarius. Aquarius energy stimulates radical reform, sudden reversals, revolutionary change and electrifying insights. Tradition-breaking Uranus in Aquarius makes a potent square angle to tradition-bound Saturn in Taurus on May 13. This will further your urge to break free from the past and create a life that is more in keeping with the "real you".

The bottom line for the month of May is that you will feel powerful drives to create harmony and security while overturning the overly restrictive and confining areas of your reality.

After you identify the disharmonious area, begin to think about how you can change, reform or recreate the stagnant situation. Don't be afraid that you are coming up with ideas that other people will reject. They are going through unusual transformations in their thinking too. Finally, when you have your strategy set in your mind, begin to make practical preparations to bring your vision into physical form. Don't be afraid of letting go of "security." You are not living through a particularly "secure" period in history. And many of the things that you perceive as "secure" actually are quite tentative while many of the things that you perceive as speculative actually are quite secure.

You may think that security comes from locking into the status quo or from something that is familiar. It's as if the devil you know is better than the one you don't know. Right now, this attitude won't work. This is a time to create anew to improve your life. When you create new things, you are bringing in a more mature and hopefully more healthy perspective.

Thus, you will create something imbued with a higher level of consciousness. This is the time to commit to creating a new vision for your life. Then, you can use the powerful energy now available to your highest potential.
