Anand sparkles in simultaneous display
CHENNAI, MAY 14. Viswanathan Anand gave a simultaneous exhibition
match in the eastern city of Valencia, Spain, scoring 29
victories and a sole draw from his 30 games.
It was arranged by Lladro, the world renowned name in Porcelain
figures and handicrafts. ``It took little less than three and a
half hours,'' said Anand speaking to The Hindu while returning to
Madrid.
Anand was `surprised' that New Delhi was the venue for the 2000
FIDE Championship. ``Then, why give away the finals to Iran,'' he
asked.
After two clear months of rest, Anand will be back at the chess
table in Leon, Spain when he plays the Advanced Chess Tournament
from June 1.
