Capturing tribal women
AFTER BRINGING to the fore its inventive flair in its terrabatik
creations, The Heritage, A 7, Anna Nagar East, has conjured up a
fresh range of murals and oil paintings depicting tribal women
from Rajasthan.
The collection, on display at an exhibition at the crafts shop,
is distinct for its artistry. Thick coats of paint is used for
the outlines, thereby giving the oil works a three-dimensional
effect. The use of earth tones and the touch of luminosity lend
the paintings a pleasing visual quality. The murals portraying
the Rajasthani women stand out for their craftsmanship and fine
use of colour. The exhibition is on till May 28.
