Pak. rejects Indian charge
ISLAMABAD, MAY 16. Pakistan today termed as ``baseless'' India's
contention that Islamabad was behind the killing of Jammu and
Kashmir Power Minister, Ghulam Hassan Bhat, and four others
yesterday.
The Foreign Office spokesman, Mr. Iftikhar Murshid, told Radio
Pakistan that ``there is no element of truth'' in the Indian view
and said ``it is yet another attempt by the Indian Government to
blame Pakistan for the consequences of its policies in Kashmir''.
The pro-Pakistan militant outfit, Hizbul Mujahideen, had
yesterday claimed responsibility for the explosion in the
Anantnag district.
The Union Home Minister, Mr. L. K. Advani, had said Pakistan's
Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) was behind the killing of Bhat.
