Robin Singh injured

PUNE, MAY 16. All- rounder Robin Singh was today injured on his forehead when he collided with his Tamil Nadu-mate S. Sriram, during a football game prior to the net practice on the second day of the ten-day conditioning camp for Asia Cup probables here.

Robin Singh needed five stitches, while Sriram got away with minor bruises, according to Maharashtra Cricket Association Joint Secretary A. N. Mate.

Robin Singh would be fit by Wednesday, according to a medical certificate issued by Dr. Subhash Pathki.

Meanwhile, Cricket Board Secretary Jaywant Lele said today that skipper Saurav Ganguly, playing for English county Lancashire, would reach here on May 21.

Lele said the selection committee to pick the Indian team for the Asia Cup was originally to meet on May 22.

``However, as Ganguly's ticket from England was not confirmed till Monday we decided to have the meeting on May 23. Yesterday night, I was told by the Board's Executive Secretary, Sharad Diwadkar, that Ganguly's ticket was confirmed and hence we have decided to have the meeting on May 22,'' Lele added.

The Indian team physical trainer Andrew Liepus of Australia told reporters after the practice session that the boys were working out in the gymnasium in the evenings. ``My first priority is to see that the players are mentally and physically fit for the Asia Cup and I think they are shaping up well so far,'' he added.

The Indian team coach Kapil Dev said he was happy with the arrangements and added that the boys were working hard at the nets.
