Four injured in CPI(M)-BJP clash

KANNUR, MAY 28. Three CPI(M) workers and a BJP activist were injured in a clash between rival party workers following a dispute during a cricket match between the two teams at Kizhakke Kathirur under the Panur police station limits here today.

According to the police, clashes between members of the rival teams and their outside supporters broke out at 1 p.m. following a dispute over a catch during the match, at the open ground near the canal at Kizhakke Kathirur. The CPI(M) worker, Mr. Rijeesh (23), and the BJP activist, Mr. Vibeesh (18), suffered stab injuries in the clashes. Two more CPI(M) workers were injured in the fight. While the CPI(M) workers were admitted to the Thalassery Co-operative Hospital, the BJP worker was admitted to the Government Hospital at Thalassery.
