Bill put in cold storage

NEW DELHI, JUNE. 28. The Centre has taken a major decision not to implement the controversial Christian Marriage Bill 2000 in view of criticism for the Bill from the Christian community.

The Government is of the view that at a time when attacks on Christians and their institutions are taking place in many parts of the country, it is not desirable to push through the Bill.
