SETWIN asked to offer advanced courses
By Our staff reporter
HYDERABAD, JUNE 30. The Chief Minister's Empowerment of Youth
Programme (CMEY) will be linked with the Society for Employment
Promotion and Training in Twin Cities (SETWIN) activities so that
the beneficiaries could easily secure loan assistance.
This was decided at a review meeting of SETWIN activities
undertaken by the Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Mr. T.
Sitaram, here on Friday. He took stock of the on-going training
programmes and those planned in future.
The Minister, who also holds charge of CMEY, after interacting
with the in-charges of different SETWIN centres in the city,
suggested that the organisation widen the scope of its courses
such as hotel management, advanced beautician, advanced computer
courses like Java, C ++.
Mr. Sitaram and the Director of Youth Services, Mr. T.
Subramanyam, wanted SETWIN to start a vehicle maintenance
workshop for four-wheelers at its Meeralam Tank centre, where an
area of 5.5 acres was available. This centre was started
recently. It runs seven regular courses.
Mrs. Chandana Khan, Secretary, Youth Services and Sports, agreed
to this suggestion and said the workshop would be started as
early as possible.
The Minister later inaugurated a free one-day medical camp for
the employees and students of SETWIN. Five doctors offered their
services.
Mr. R. Vijayakumar, Managing Director, SETWIN, and other
officials of the organisation attended the review meeting.
