Signature campaign against tariff hike

HYDERABAD, JULY 1 The city committee of the All-India Democratic Women's Association on Saturday organised a signature campaign against the increased power tariff. A large number of women employed in industries appended their signatures to the banners put up by the organisation.

While demanding withdrawal of the increased tariff, the committee said in a statement that a programme to collect signatures in trains would be taken up on July 3 and 4. The signatures would be submitted to the Governor, Dr.C.Rangarajan, in the second week of this month.

The statement said activists of the association would launch mass hunger strike in front of all mandal offices in the city on July 7.
