The week ahead

THINGS are very quiet this week, astrologically-speaking. The most significant event is that four planets Mercury, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto are all Retrograde and three of them will remain that way for the next few months.

When a planet is Retrograde, the energies that it expresses do not work as well as they usually do. When this many planets are Retrograde at one time, carefully laid plans often go awry, and projects tend to be hampered by unforeseen complications. The best way to circumvent such difficulties may be to shift your focus away from a project's ultimate end, and to dwell instead upon the process of doing as an end in itself.

In other words try to bear in mind that the journey can often be more fruitful than the attainment of the final destination.

Queries Answered

Some astrologers believe Jupiter will not do good in the house he is placed in the natal chart, but the houses he aspects from there will get excellent benefits for the native. The general rules say benefics in Kendras (1, 4, 7 & 10) will do good. Please clarify.

Mr. K. Nagarajan,

Secunderabad-26.

THE aspect of Jupiter, the foremost natural benefic; over any house is good. But he should also be well placed in a horoscope and should be a favourable planet for the Lagna. Consider Kanya Lagna. Its Lord is Mercury, towards whom Jupiter is ill-disposed. So Jupiter's innate disposition to confer benefits will become restricted.

Jupiter placed in a Kendra (1, 4, 7 and 10) can be favourable. But he should not own one of them, as such ownership will entail Kendradhipatya Dosha. (For Kanya Lagna, he owns both 4 and 10).
