AGP demands more autonomy

GUWAHATI, JULY 9. The ruling Asom Gana Parishad(AGP) today demanded more autonomy for the States claiming that this alone can strengthen the federal structure of the country. ``AGP is demanding decentralisation and more powers to the State Governments so that proper development can be ensured'', the party spokesman and former Union Minister, Birendranath Baishya, told reporters here.
