Osama's movements monitored: Taliban
DUBAI, JULY 9. The supreme leader of Afghanistan's ruling Taliban
said the Islamic militia was monitoring and restricting the
movements of Osama bin Laden and denied the Saudi-born terrorist
had training camps in Afghanistan.
Mullah Mohammad Omar made his comments in an interview to the Al-
Ittihad newspaper published here. The daily said it had
interviewed him in Kandahar, Afghanistan's spiritual capital.
``The logical solution to Osama's case is in reaching an
understanding and until now the United States has not given its
attention to a solution and wants to impose a solution in its own
way which we reject,'' he said.
``We are monitoring Osama's movements and have restricted his
movements, but the U.S. considers that a form of us helping
Osama. For a single guest in our country America punishes the
entire Afghani people. This is terrorism,'' the Taliban leader
said.
