Girl dies, parents battling for life

BANGALORE, JULY 9. Anusha, a two-year-old child from Chikkagondanahalli in Nandagudi limits died on Sunday of asphyxiation while her parents have been admitted to hospital in what police suspect to be a gruesome attempt at suicide.

The girl's father, Chandrashekar (26), who reportedly cut off his genitals, and his wife, Annapurnamma (23), with a slit throat are battling for their lives in a hospital.

The two were said to be daily wage earners at a farm.

Couple commit suicide

Manjamma (18) and husband Annayappa (29) from Hoskote, died at the Victoria Hospital here on Sunday. They were admitted after they consumed poison. They had been married for eight months.
