Australia beats Germany in final

SYDNEY, JULY 9. Germany lost 0-3 to Australia, following a 0-5 loss on Wednesday, in the final of the pre-Olympic Test matches at the Olympic field hockey stadium here on Saturday.

Annan contributed to all of Australia's goals: passing to Triny Powell in the circle to Jink over Julia Zwehl in goal (49th minute); scoring off a rebound from Zwehl from Jenny Morris' penalty corner strike with a drive into the middle of the net (58th minute); and pushing a penalty corner conversion to Triny Powell at the left post to deflect in past the right side of Zwehl (66th minute).

Australia A routs Kiwis

Australia A continued the run of defeats for New Zealand, winning 3-0 in a pre-Olympic Test match. New Zealand lost 0-4 to Australia here on Thursday and lost 1-3 to Germany on Tuesday.

Members of the Australian senior squad who are either on the border of selection for the Olympic final 16, or below that standard, played the New Zealand Olympic squad on the final day of a week of Test matches between Australia, New Zealand and Germany.
