Acupuncture to Sampras' aid
SINGAPORE, JULY 9. Pete Sampras resorted to acupuncture at a
London clinic to relieve a serious injury that threatened his bid
for a seventh Wimbledon singles title, The Sunday Times in
Singapore said.
When Sampras stepped into the court on Sunday for the final
against Australian Pat Rafter, he would have had eight sessions
with Beijing-born acupuncturist Sun Yu-Juan, it reported.
Sun said it was former Wimbledon champion Pat Cash who urged
Sampras to see her. ``Pete told me it was Pat who had recommended
him to me,'' Sun told the daily in London.
