10 killed in Assam
By Barun Das Gupta
GUWAHATI, JULY 16. In yet another massacre in Karbi Anglong hill
district of Assam, 10 non-tribals, including four children and
two women, were gunned down by the United People's Democratic
Solidarity militants in two separate incidents at Telihal and
Langparban villages in the early hours of today.
Two extremist outfits, the Karbi People's Front and the Karbi
National Volunteers, merged in November last to form the UPDS.
Since April this year, it has killed over 50 non- tribals -
Biharis, Nepalese and Muslims, mostly labourers.
