Sri Lankan envoy calls on Musharraf

ISLAMABAD, JULY 16. A high-level Sri Lankan delegation, led by Mr. Lakshman Jayakody, special envoy of the President, Ms. Chandrika Kumaratunga, called on the Chief Executive of Pakistan, Gen. Pervez Musharraf, on Saturday and exchanged views on issues of mutual concern in the region.

In the course of the meeting, Mr. Jayakody, delivered a message of goodwill to Gen. Musharraf from Ms. Kumarantunga.

An official statement said Gen. Musharraf reiterated his country's abiding friendship to Sri Lanka and desire for expansion of bilateral ties.

Besides Mr. Jayakody, the delegation, which is on a two-day official visit here, consisted of Mr. Balapatabendi, Principal Secretary to the Sri Lankan President, and Lt. Gen. C.S. Weerasooriya, Commander, Sri Lankan Army.
