Pak. to take up terrorism with Afghanistan

By B. Muralidhar Reddy

ISLAMABAD, JULY 25. A high-power delegation of Pakistan is expected to visit Afghanistan shortly to discuss terrorism, smuggling and extradition of Pakistani criminals hiding in Afghanistan, said the Pakistan Interior Minister, Lt. Gen. (retd.) Moinuddin Haider, on Monday. He was briefing a group of senior journalists on Monday.

The Minister said that Islamabad had for the first time submitted to the Taliban Government a list of Pakistanis suspected to be getting training there. Pakistan sought extradition of those alleged to be involved in acts of terrorism in Pakistan.

The Minister's comments assume significance in the wake of growing concern within Pakistan on the training camps in Afghanistan for jehadi groups and the two incidents of bomb expositions on Pakistan embassy in Kabul. Gen. Haider said the response of the Afghanistan Government was that such people would be pushed out of the country. ``We told them that they should be arrested and handed over to us.''

AFP reports:

Meanwhile, two more blasts have rocked the Afghan capital Kabul, the latest in a series of mysterious explosions around Pakistani or government facilities this month.
