Bomb hoax in Vidhana Soudha

By Our Staff Reporter

BANGALORE, JULY 25. The meeting of the State Cabinet this evening was suspended for 30 minutes following an anonymous call that bombs had been placed inside the Vidhana Soudha.

Police said the Bomb Detection Squad and sniffer dogs were pressed into service immediately and a thorough search was conducted inside the Vidhana Soudha, including the Cabinet Hall on the 3rd Floor where the meeting was in progress. However, the call turned out to be a hoax.

This was the second call reported in the last few days stating that explosives had been placed in the Vidhana Soudha. Last week, police received an anonymous call stating that bombs were placed at "Krishna", the official residence of the Chief Minister, Mr. S.M.Krishna, which turned out to be a hoax.
