Heavy rain causes traffic jams
By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD, AUG. 9. Heavy rain lashed the twin cities for the
second time in the last three days flooding low-lying areas,
inundating the main thoroughfares and causing traffic jams all
over, yet again.
The incessant rain which started in the morning continued till
evening affecting the commuters, particularly students and
office-goers. At several places, people had to wade through knee-
deep water even as stranded motorists had a tough time trying to
start their vehicles.
With water overflowing on the roads, traffic at Ameerpet,
Greenlands, Begumpet, Somajiguda, Khairatabad, Masab Tank, Toli
Chowki, Paradise, M.G. Road, Himayatnagar, Lumbini Park Junction
almost came to a standstill. People drenched to the bone was a
common sight on all the roads.
The condition of the lanes and bylanes in several low-lying areas
was worse with water entering the houses also.
