India takes on UAE in pre-World Cup match

NEW DELHI, AUG. 9. India takes on United Arab Emirates in the first pre-World Cup match on April 8 next year in India and the return match between both the countries will be held at UAE on April 26.

Likewise India will play matches at Brunei and Yemen while these countries come to India on their return matches before May 10 next year, All India Football Federation (AIFF) president Priya Ranjan Dasmunshi said in a release here on Wednesday.

Chairman of FIFA technical committee Mohammad Bin Hammam has shouldered the responsibility to finalise a competent coach for AIFF to coach the India senior team about which the federation would be informed in a fortnight, Mr Dasmunshi said.

AIFF will shortly finalise the calendar in the last week of August for the junior National and the pending Federation Cup. The federation would discuss on Thursday on the long-term plan and exposure, spotting of scientific evaluation of each player with the Sports Authority of India (SAI), he added.
