Three doctors charged with attempted murder
By Our Staff Reporter
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, AUG. 25. The Peroorkada police have filed a
case of attempted murder against three house surgeons on charges
of trying to kill a college student by running him down with a
car.
The accused were identified as Dr. Bikki Mammen, Dr. Alex and Dr.
Gopal. According to police, the three arrived at the Mar Ivanios
College at 3 p.m. on Thursday and parked their vehicle near the
English Department with the car's sound system at full blast.
When teachers and students protested, they took the car to the
college hostel. Returning at break neck speed, they knocked down
Sabu, a second year degree student, who was later admitted to the
Medical College Hospital in a serious condition.
Police said the car then lost control and crashed into a wall
inside the college. Extricating the vehicle, the three sped away.
Police later seized the vehicle from a workshop at PTP Nagar.
Police have filed a case against the house surgeons for trespass
and attempted murder. The three are absconding.
