India in joint 20th spot

CHENNAI, SEPT. 3. The Indian quartet found it difficult to come to terms with tight fairways and slid down to joint 20th position with Norway at the end of the penultimate round of the four round 22nd world amateur golf (team) championship for the Eisenhover Trophy at Berlin on Saturday.

According to reports reaching here, USA, with a superb 20-under- par score, was way ahead of second placed Germany (13- under) and defending champion Great Britain and Ireland, which was 11-under for three rounds.

Paul Casey of Great Britain led the individual event, with a 13- under total, followed by USA's Bryce Molder (-11) and Finland's Tuomas Tuovinen (-7) for second and third places.

As for Indian amateurs, excepting Ashok Kumar, in joint 37th spot with six others for individual honours with a two-over-par score, the other three - Shiv Kumar, Rahil Gangjee and Sheeraz Kalra failed to come to terms.
