By Our Special Correspondent

AHMEDABAD, SEPT. 15. The regional passport officer for Gujarat, Mr. J. R. Amre, and a senior woman officer in the passport office here were among those arrested by the CBI today in connection with the seizure of bogus passports issued by the office.

The CBI during its raids a couple of months back had seized more than 500 bogus passports issued by the passport office here and have so far arrested 17 persons including seven officers in the passport office in this connection. Two executive magistrates have also been arrested for signing of blank affidavits which were recovered from the houses of some ``touts'' and agents acting on behalf of the passport officers for issuing bogus passports.
