Ramadoss wants CM to sort out PMK, TRC differences
By Our Staff Reporter
RAMANATHAPURAM, OCT. 7. The PMK founder- leader, Dr. S. Ramadoss
today wondered why the Chief Minister, Mr. Karunanidhi was
reluctant to convene a meeting of the NDA partners to sort out
differences among the PMK and TRC.
Speaking to presspersons here, he said, ``in fact Mr. Vazhapadi
K. Ramamurthy stepped up his attack on the PMK every time he met
the Chief Minister''. However, he was still hopeful that the
Chief Minister would take a good decision in the issue.
On the emergence of caste-based political parties he said such
parties would not pose any threat to the nation. But they should
try to raise the socio-economic status and address other problems
of the people who patronised them. The PMK has decided to field
25 per cent of the total candidates in the southern districts,
said Dr. Ramadoss.
Regarding the Kachathivu issue, he said that despite overwhelming
evidence of India's rights over the island, the Government of
India seems to be hesitant to reclaim it. Hence the PMK would
mount pressure on the Central Government to retrieve it for the
benefit of Indian fishermen, Dr. Ramadoss said.
