Govt. staff demand increase in bonus

By Our Staff Reporter

PONDICHERRY, OCT. 7. Mr. R. Anandarajan, general secretary of the Confederation of Pondicherry State Government Employees Associations, has called upon the Administration to ensure that 34 days' wages was paid as bonus for the government staff under the productivity-linked bonus system.

In a communication, he said daily wage workers who had put in a minimum of 206 days of work should be paid bonus equivalent to the one paid for regular staff and this should be extended to cover the part-time and anganwadi staff also.

Other demands of the Confederation are: withdrawal of the prohibitory order enforced for 30 days, confirmation of part-time staff and conversion of anganwadi staff as part-time staff and implementation of Assured Career Progression (ACP).

Mr. Anandarajan said when these demands were sought to be presented through a procession, the administration had clamped the prohibitory order. The order should be revoked lest necessity should arise to violate it to bring the demands of the staff to the notice of the Administration.
