By Our Correspondent
KOLAR GOLD FIELDS, OCT. 13. Seven persons were killed and at
least 15 were injured in a road accident that took place near
Hanumanahalli on the Bangalore Chennai National Highway on
Thursday midnight.
According to sources, a goods tempo carrying more than 30 persons
from Kolar dashed against a stationary lorry on the road side
killing two persons on the spot. Three succumbed to injuries on
way to hospital and another two died in the hospital.
It is reported that all the 30 persons travelling in the tempo
were going to Mulbagal to attend an urus.
It is reported that the lorry with Tamil Nadu registration was
parked on the road side as it had developed some technical snag,
and the driver was attending to it, while the cleaner was waving
a torch at moving vehicles indicating that the lorry was parked
there. However, the tempo driver could not control the vehicle
and dashed against the stationary lorry.
The lorry cleaner, Jayaram (25) of Chennai, who was waving the
torch, and Amjad Pasha (16), resident of Noornagar in Kolar, who
was travelling in the tempo, were killed on the spot.

Mubarak Pasha (15) of Millatnagar, Kolar, Rahamathulla (30) of

to Mulabal for attending the urus.
Mr. Pranab Mohanthy, Superintendent of Police, rushed to the spot
at around 1 a.m. on Friday and made arrangements to shift the
injured to Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College Hospital.
