VISAKHAPATNAM, OCT. 15. An atmospheric pressure system lay 500 km south- east of Visakhapatnam coast at 5.30 p.m. today moving in a north- westerly direction and likely to intensify into a deep depression by early hours of Monday. Medium to high cloud formation was seen all over the State.

A distant cautionary signal No. 1 was hoisted at all ports along the coast from Kalingapatnam to Krishnapatnam, Cyclone Warning Centre officials said. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea.

Today, no significant rainfall was recorded in any of the coastal areas and the CWC was monitoring the progress of the system and collecting all technical data to caution the State Government.
