Statement in black and white
ETHNIC WEAVES have been revived in a big way. The very mention of
ethnic fabrics brings to mind a burst of vibrant hues. But Fab
India (Woods Road) for a change celebrates the basic colours -
black and white in an exhibition. The materials have been sourced
from all over the country - Orissa, Gujarat, Bengal, Madhya
Pradesh and Rajasthan etc. Florals stripes, checks... the
creations for men, women and children are captivating. A wide
range of saris, salwars, kurtas, tops and dupattas are available.
The colour scheme does not stop with clothes. It is black and
white all the way on the decor front too. Printed bed clovers,
pillow covers, sheets, cushion covers, dhurries, lamshades, table
linen, crockery ... all are aesthetically designed in black and
white. The exhibition is on from October 19.
