Engineer rescued following arrest of Minister's son
DALTONGANJ (BIHAR), NOV. 13. An engineer from the newly-created
Chhattisgarh State was rescued following the arrest of the son of
Bihar Minister for Labour and Employment, Mr. Chandrashekhar
Dubey, police said today.
Two others involved in the kidnapping were arrested and the
vehicle used by them recovered during a joint raid conducted by
the Palamu and Garwah police yesterday.
Mr. Devendra Prakash Swarnkar, an engineer employed with Northern
Coalfields, was kidnapped in October from a place in Vindhya town
of Chhattisgarh, the police said.
In the course of investigations police arrested Ajay Dubey, son
of the Bihar Labour and Employment Minister on November 1 and
based on his statement conducted a raid in Garwah in south Bihar
and succeeded in freeing the engineer, the police said.
Two other kidnappers - P. Tiwari and Narendra Pandey - were
arrested and the vehicle used by them was recovered from Lalgarh
area of Palamu district, the police added.
