We will take to the streets: Delhi CM
By Our Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI, NOV. 24. The Delhi Chief Minister, Ms. Sheila Dixit,
today said that the master plan of Delhi was not more
``sacrosanct'' than the livelihood of lakhs of poor people and
the Centre including its Urban Development Minister, Mr.
Jagmohan, should have no hesitation amending it.
Talking to The Hindu, Ms. Dixit said it was unfortunate that Mr.
Jagmohan was ``adamant'' on not going ahead with the amendment
despite demands to this effect from all quarters including his
own party MPs. The Congress and the Delhi Government would not be
mute spectators if the rights of these people were suppressed,
she said and warned that her partymen including MLAs would be
forced to take to the streets to lodge their protest.
