Janata Dal(U) splits

NEW DELHI, NOV. 26. The fractious Janata Dal politics raised its
head again today with the Communications Minister, Mr. Ram Vilas
Paswan, seeking separate allotment of seats in the Lok Sabha.
On a day when the JD(U) executive decided to rally behind its
president, Mr. Sharad Yadav, the Communications Minister met the
Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Mr. G.M.C. Balayogi, and sought
separate seat allocation claiming support of four MPs including
himself.
Mr. Paswan said his supporters included, Mr. Jai Narain Prasad
`Nishad', Mr. Ramchandra Paswan and Ramesh Jigajini of the 10-
member JD(U) MPs in the Lok Sabha.
