Israeli spy planes for India
JERUSALEM, NOV. 26. The State-owned Israel Aircraft Industries
will sell remote-controlled surveillance planes to India in a
deal worth $ 250 million to $ 300 million, an Israeli Defence
official said today.
``IAI is selling Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) to India,'' said
the official, who asked not to be identified, adding that the
planes were slated for delivery starting next year. The work
would be done by IAI's subsidiaries, Elta and Taman. News reports
indicated the planes, which are equipped with cameras, would be
stationed in Kashmir. IAI officials declined to comment.
