Competitions on Gita

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, NOV. 26. The Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan, Chinmaya Mission, Matha Amritananda Mayi Madhom, Sree Vidhyadhiraja Sabha and the Vidyaniketan would be organising various competitions for school students in connection with the International Gita seminar to be held in the city from December 7.

A release issued by the organising committee of the Gita International said that competitions on Gita chanting, elocution on Gita, essay-writing and painting would be held in the city.

The Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan would be organising a Gita elocution competition on December 2 at the Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan school. An essay competition on Gita would be held at the Vidhyadhiraja Vidya Mandir at Vazhuthacaud on December 3. A Gita chanting competition would be held at the Chinmaya Mission school at Vazhuthacaud on December 5 and a painting competition would be held at the Matha Amritanandamayi Madhom on December 7.

The competitions would commence at 10 a.m on the respective dates. The students who wish to take part in the competitions should register their names at the respective centres before 9-45 a.m. along with a certificate from the head of the school and a registration fee of Rs. 5.

Ten verses from the Chapter 12 of the Gita and the complete verses from Chapter 12 of the Gita is to be recited by the U. P. and High school students respectively for the Gita recital competition.
