IOC, BRPL sign agreement
NEW DELHI, NOV. 26. Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has signed an
agreement with Bongaigaon Refinery and Petrochemicals (BRPL) for
transportation of 0.5 million tonnes of crude oil for delivery to
`BRPL through IOC's Haldia-Barauni crude oil pipeline.
The agreement was signed in the Presence of Mr. S. N. Jha,
director (pipeline), IOC by Mr. A.M. Uplenchwar, executive
director (engineering and consultancy), IOC and Mr. R.M.
Hazarika, director (commercial), BRPL, a company statement said
here.
IOC would source and transport crude oil through its 4.2 million
tonnes capacity 500 km. long Haldia-Barauni crude oil pipeline to
BRPL up to Barauni.
The 2.7 million tonne BRPL's Bongaigaon Refinery in Assam is
unable to utilise its full refining capacity due to lower
allocation of crude oil from Assam oil fields and was importing
crude. BRPL would transport crude oil from Barauni to Bongaigaon
through Oil India Ltd. (OIL's) pipeline.
