Big win for Chennai

CALCUTTA, NOV. 26. Chennai notched up the biggest win of the day beating Bhopal 6-0 in a pool B match in the State Bank of India all-India inter-circle football here on Sunday.

For the Chennai team A. Amzad scored three but missed a hat-trick while A.B. Joseph scored two and Ali Akbar completed the tally. In the other matches Hyderabad, aided by Giridhar's three goals, downed Ahmedabad 4-0 in the pool C. The remaining goal came from Akil Ahmed.

Host Bengal beat Chandigarh 4-0 in a pool A match to brighten its semifinal chances. Having a clutch of top club footballers, Bengal presented a strong line-up as East Bengal player Amit Das and Mohun Bagan linkman Goutam Ghosh shared the strikes.
