GI solutions eyes U.S. market

CHENNAI: The Chennai based Genesis Infotech Solutions has announced its foray into the U. S. market. The company plans to set up an office in Atlanta initially and later in Singapore and Dubai. It has recently clinched offshore software development, e- commerce solutions, web based design and development, on site consultancy services and IT training, according to a release.

Microchip to buy TelCom

CHENNAI: Microchip Technology plans to acquire TelCom Semiconductor in a stock-for-stock transaction valued at $300 million on a fully-diluted basis. TelCom is a provider of a broad spectrum of high performance linear and mixed-signal integrated circuits solutions that are used worldwide in a range of applications in the wireless communication, computing, consumer electronics, networking, industrial and other markets.

Stanchart restructures treasury business

MUMBAI: Standard Chartered Bank has changed the structure and scope of its treasury business, now rechristened as `Standard Chartered Global Markets,' to result in broader product range and a greater emphasis on Asian debt capital markets. "The group's fixed income and syndication business capabilities will be strengthened in India, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Hong Kong," the bank's group head of global markets, Mr. Mike Rees, said in a release on Tuesday.

Informix alliance with Ironside of U.S.

CHENNAI: Ironside Technologies, supplier of sell-side business-to-business electronic commerce solutions for the manufacturing and distribution markets and Informix Business Solutions, an independent operating company of Informix Corporation announced a strategic technology and sales partnership designed to integrate i.Sell with the Ironworks suite of B2B applications. Both companies will co-market this integrated solution as i.Sell ERP.

PTC in pact with Dynamatic Tech.

CHENNAI: Parametric Technology (India), a wholly owned subsidiary of Parametric Technology Corporation of the U. S. and the Bangalore-based Dynamatic Technologies announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding to establish training centres in India. Dynamatic Technologies will establish certified training centres through the Powermetric division.
