Asian Council to persuade India on cricket tour
DHAKA, NOV. 28. A three-member Asian Cricket Council (ACC)
delegation will visit India next week to persuade New Delhi to
rethink its team's cancelled tour of Pakistan, the Bangladesh's
cricket chief said today.
Mr.Saber Hossain Chowdhury told AFP that he would lead the team,
which included the Sri Lankan Cricket Board president,
Mr.Thilanga Sumathipala and Mr.Tunku Imran, chairman of the
Malaysian Cricket Association.
``It will be in the first week of December, but an exact date is
yet to be decided,'' he said.
The team would hold talks with the Sports Minister, Ms. Uma
Bharati and the External Affairs Minister, Mr.Jaswant Singh, he
said.
According to the ICC schedule, India is due to tour Pakisan next
month to play three test matches and five one-day internationals.
