Australia posts win
WELLINGTON, NOV. 29. Defending champion Australia beat New
Zealand by six wickets in the opening match of the 2000 women's
World Cup cricket tournament at Lincoln today. Australia
overhauled New Zealand's total of 166 for nine in 50 overs with
15 balls to spare.
The scores: New Zealand 166 for 9 (Emily Drumm 74, Kathryn Ramel
32) lost to Australia 167 for 4 (Karen Rolton 51 not out, Lisa
Keightly 44).
