NOCs for 61 educational societies

HYDERABAD, NOV. 30. The State Government has issued `no objection certificates' (NOCs) to 61 educational societies to set up new engineering colleges during 2001-2002 and 2002-2003. The Government had earlier notified 46 locations for setting up these colleges but the societies favoured with the NOC were only for 37 locations.

The consideration of the applications for the remaining 9 places had been deferred.

The proposals of the societies along with the NOCs given by the Government would be forwarded to the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), which would further verify the credentials of these societies before according permission to set up colleges.

Of the 61 societies, eight belong to the minority communities. Again, 43 societies have been considered for the colleges proposed to be grounded in 2001-2002 and 18 societies for colleges proposed in 2002-2003. The NOCs were issued based in the recommendations of the experts committee headed by Mr. B.V. Krishna Rao.

The Minister for Technical Education, Mr. Alapati Rajendra Prasad, told presspersons on Thursday that a single society had been recommended in respect of some colleges while in other cases, the credentials of more than one society would be examined by the AICTE.

The Minister said a task force would be constituted to constantly monitor the availability of specified infrastructure facilities in these colleges. He said the societies had been categorised into A, B and C depending on the fulfilment of the guidelines set up by the ICTE.

Mr. Rajendra Prasad said that more than one college had been recommended at 17 out of 37 locations specified by the Government in the earlier notifications seeking applications.

The following is the list of the societies favoured with NOCs and the location of the colleges.

Allagadda : Alfa Education Society (Minority), Adoni : Lakshmi Venkateswara society, Banswada : Sri Venkateswara Education Society, Cheepurupalli : Mother Theresa Education Society, Jangareddygudem : Nova Education Society, Medak : St Anne's Education Society, Metpally : Tirumala Medical Academy, Mulugu : KNR Education Society, Nandigama: Devineni Ramana and Pranitha Memorial Trust, Narsapur : Vasista Education Society, Peddapuram: Gayathri Education Society, Proddatur : Sri Vasavi Education Society, Rayachoti : Sri Sai Education Society, Sattupalli : Mother Theresa, Tekkali: Aditya Education society, Tuni : Sri Prakash Education Society, Yellandu : SRR Education Society.

At the following places, two different societies were given NOCs for setting up colleges in 2001-2002 and 2002-2003 respectively.

Armoor : Pandit Deen Dayal Education Society and Balaji Education Society, Devarakonda : HRD society and SRK memorial education society, Godavarikhani : Sindhura Education Society, Vivekananda Edn Society, Hindupur : Super Spinning Mills Ltd and Sri Venkateswara Education Society, Macherla, Lincoln Education Society and Maruthi Education Society, Narayanpet : Vijayanthi Education Society and Viswasanthi Education Society, Narasampet : Maheswara Education Society and Jaya Mukhi Education Society, Sattenapalli :Nalanda Education society and Shanthi Niketan Education Society, Sullurpet : Srikrishna Education Society and Peoples Education Society, Tadepalligudem : Vasavi education Society and Sadi education Society : Udayagiri : Farah Education Society and Mekapati RR Charitable Trust, Yemmiganur, St.Theresa Education Society and St. John's Education Society.

Places where more than one society is recommended are: Bheemunipatnam : Anil Neerukonda Education Society and Raghu Education Society, Chirala : VRS & YRN society and St. Mary's Education Society, Gudur : Aiswarya Vignan Education Society and Narayana Education Society, Ibrahimpatnam : Sient Education Society and Cherabuddi Educational Society for the year 2001-2002 and Chinta Madhusudhana Reddy Educational Society and Gajjela Ram Reddy Education Society for 2002-2003, Mr.Gurunank Education Society, Kodad : Amarthay Educational Society and Sana Educational Society, Siddipet : Vijetha Educational Society and Ellanki Education Society for the year 2001-2001 and Gajwel Minority Education Society for 2002-2003.

For Gooty, two societies have been given NOC to set up a college in 2002-2003.
