'BSF men may arrive anytime'

BANGALORE, DEC. 1. The Border Security Force has been kept ready by the Centre for despatch and the personnel may arrive at any moment to start operations to nab the brigand Veerappan, according to the Director-General of Police, Mr. C.Dinakar.

After a meeting of a high-level committee attended by the Chief Minister, Mr. S. M. Krishna, the Home Minister, Mr. Mallikarjuna Kharge, the Principal Home Secretary, Mr. M.B.Prakash, and the chief of State STF, Mr. H. T. Sangliana, the DGP told reporters that the IG, Tamil Nadu STF, would arrive here tomorrow to discuss details of the operations.

Seventeen teams had been formed of which 12 are engaged in combing operations on the Tamil Nadu side of the forests.
