Career-best haul by Shivaji Yadav

KURNOOL, DEC. 2. Off- spinner Shivaji Yadav stole the show with career-best figures of seven for 70, as Andhra salvaged a draw, after being in a spot of bother despite taking the first innings lead, on the final day of the South Zone Ranji Trophy league match at Kurnool Outdoor Stadium here today.

For one who had taken just six wickets from eight matches before the start of this season, the youngster who replaced veteran Kanwaljit Singh in the squad in the last two encounters (including this) exploited the irresponsible approach of the Andhra batsmen and the pitch with the odd ball keeping low to claim a rich haul.

At one stage Andhra was 85 for four, all claimed by Yadav, before scoring 193 for nine at close.
